Heavy Methamphetamine Nearly One Kilogram Successfully Thwarted Circulating In Southeast Sulawesi

The KENDARI - Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Regional Police arrested two people suspected of being drug dealers in the city of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province, with 797.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine confiscated. Director of Drug Investigation of the Southeast Sulawesi Police Kombes Pol Bambang Tjahjo Bawono said that the two people, namely a man with the initials HN (32) and a woman initials YN (32). "HN was arrested in Sanua Village on Saturday, December 30, 2023 and YN was arrested in Punggaloba Village, West Kendari District, Kendari City on Tuesday, January 2, 2024," said Bambang, Monday, January 8. He mentioned that at the time of arrest of the two perpetrators, narcotics evidence was found in the form of eight packages of methamphetamine weighing 308.5 grams belonging to HN and four packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 488.8 grams as well as hundreds of ecstasy pills belonging to the suspect YN.Bambag said that in carrying out his actions, the suspect HN was a network of illicit trafficking of inter-island narcotics, with the suspect's modus operandi being a warehouse for storing illicit goods controlled by someone from inside prisons in Southeast Sulawesi. "And the rest that we managed to confiscate was as much as 308.5 grams," he explained.

As for the suspect YN, Bambang continued, the arrest was based on information from the National Police Headquarters, which stated that there would be a circulation of ecstasy that would be circulated on New Year's Eve 2024 in Kendari city. "Armed with that information, we conducted an investigation and succeeded in securing the suspect," he said.
