Debate Of Presidential Candidate: Ganjar Emphasizes Commitment To Palestine's Independence

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo emphasized his commitment with vice presidential candidate Mahfud Md to fight for Palestinian independence.

"And this is our commitment to Palestinian independence that we continue to support," said Ganjar in the third debate of the 2024 presidential election at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday night.

The former governor of Central Java for two periods explained that Indonesia had never forgotten the agreement to encourage decolonization in the world.

"We never forget, Indonesia is always loyal to the agreement that has been taken. The decolonization is done to encourage, (and) convince us all to free the entire nation without intervening with one another," he said, quoted by Antara.

On that occasion, Ganjar also highlighted the importance of redefinition or redefineing Indonesian foreign politics that is free to be active in order to be adjusted to current conditions in order to fulfill the wishes and strengthen the Indonesian nation and state.

"We need to choose, sort, and prioritize those who become the strengths, desires of this nation and state," he said.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has appointed three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates participating in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres), namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud number 3.

After the first debate on December 12, 2023 and the second debate on December 22, 2023, the KPU held a third debate that brought together the presidential candidates.

The theme of the third debate includes defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopoliticals, and foreign politics.
