Hit By Strong Winds, Tree On Jalan Basuki Rahmat Falls Hits Residents' Houses

JAKARTA - A large tree on the side of Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, fell after being hit by strong winds on Sunday afternoon, January 7.

The tree fell on the resident's house in the vicinity of the fallen tree. Tree Dahan also damaged the roof of a resident's house.

"Still in handling until now. A fallen tree hit the house," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman at the location.

The incident occurred at around 14:44 WIB. A number of rescue teams from the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. were deployed to the location to trim tree branches.

The cuts were also assisted by the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-dept. task force using a crane. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries or fatalities as a result of this incident.
