AMIN National Team Supports Bawaslu To Examine Gus Miftah

JAKARTA - The National Team for Winning Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Timnas AMIN) supports the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) which will examine Gus Miftah regarding the circulation of the video of the distribution of money in Pamekasan, Madura.

"It fully supports the Pamekasan Bawaslu, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Police in enforcing the Election Law and processing it quickly," said AMIN National Team Spokesperson Iwan Tarigan in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, January 6.

Iwan said Bawaslu must apply strict sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations so that the political behavior of money politics does not occur elsewhere.

In addition, he assessed that the defense raised by Gus Miftah and the Secretary of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) Nusron Wahid regarding the circulation of the money distribution video was a natural thing because it was done before Bawaslu made a summons.

"Regarding the defense of Gus Miftah and the Secretary of TKN Nusron Wahid, our opinion is natural and they should have done it, because there were no thieves who claimed to be thieves before the evidence was found," he said.

Earlier on Thursday January 4, Bawaslu Pamekasan, East Java will summon Gus Miftah for questioning regarding the video of him distributing money to the people in Pamekasan. The action is suspected to be part of the campaign for the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo-Gibran

According to Gus Miftah's statement, the money distributed was money belonging to the entrepreneur who invited him, and was intended for alms.

On Monday, November 13, 2023, the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) determined three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates to participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

The results of the draw and determination of the number of participants for the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar received serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md serial number 3.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
