Survey Indicators: 45.4 Percent Of Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno Supporters Do Not Believe The COVID-19 Vaccine

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicator Survey Institute issued the latest survey results related to COVID-19 vaccination, including according to the basis of the presidential election during the 2019 presidential election. As a result, Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno's support groups tend not to believe in the COVID-19 vaccine.

"It turns out that supporters of Pak Prabowo-Sandi in 2019 tend not to believe in vaccines, the effectiveness of vaccines, rather than supporters of Pak Jokowi," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi when delivering his presentation online, Sunday, February 21.

From the survey, it was noted that 45.4 percent of respondents who supported Prabowo-Sandi claimed to believe in the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 39.7 percent of respondents who admitted they did not believe and 14.9 percent of respondents did not answer.

As for Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin's supporters, there are 59.5 people who believe in the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 24.8 percent of respondents chose not to believe and 15.7 percent did not answer.

Burhanuddin explained that the reason why respondents were based on support during the presidential election was not willing to be vaccinated because they considered the COVID-19 vaccine to be unsafe and effective. Of the Prabowo-Sandi support group, 52.8 percent of respondents rated the COVID-19 vaccine as unsafe and 28.1 percent considered the COVID-19 vaccine ineffective.

Meanwhile, from the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin camp, 56.4 percent of respondents thought the COVID-19 vaccine was unsafe, and 22.9 percent considered the COVID-19 vaccine ineffective.

"My advice for the government, which is vaccinated, not only President Jokowi, but also Pak Prabowo and Mas Sandi, Mas Anies Baswedan as well," he said.

The Survey of Indonesian Political Indicators was conducted in the range 1-3 February 2021. The survey was conducted using telephone contact to respondents and face to face.

The number of samples randomly selected to be called were 7,604 data, and those who were successfully interviewed during the survey duration were 1,200 respondents.

The survey used the simple random sampling method, with a sample size of 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. Samples come from all provinces that are proportionally distributed.
