SUMBAR - The road connecting Tanah Datar Regency with Payakumbuh City in West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra) was affected by landslides on Sunday, December 31. As a result, two-way vehicle traffic was hampered.

Head of the Emergency Section of the Tanah Datar Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Dody Susilo, appealed to vehicle users to access alternative routes while the road landslide matririal in Jorong Bayua, Tanjung Baru, Tanah Datar is still being handled.

"Tim dari Dinas PU, pihak kepolisian, dan masyarakat saat ini sudah berada di lokasi untuk mengeri material longsor," kata dia, Tanah Datar, Sumbar, Minggu 31 Desember, disitat Antara.

He explained that the rain that had flushed the Tanah Datar area and its surroundings since Saturday, December 30 caused a cliff on the side of the road to be piled up and covered the road in the Jorong Bayua area.

Dody appealed to motorists to increase their vigilance because in the rainy season the road section in hilly areas is prone to landslides.

"We remind motorists, especially drivers of two-wheeled vehicles, to increase their vigilance while traveling. Especially at this time that high rainfall is prone to landslides," he said.
