Attending The PDIP Event In Lombok, Acting Governor Of NTB Declared Not Violating Netrality

West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Bawaslu Member Umar AchmadSeth said Acting Governor of NTB Lalu Gita Ariadi, as recommended by KASN, was deemed not to have violated neutrality while attending the PDI-P event in Lombok on September 10, 2023.

Umar said the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) had decided that Lalu Gita Ariadi would not be proven to have violated the neutrality of ASN for introducing the candidate for the bull party in the event of handing over social assistance (bansos).

"Recommendations have been issued from KASN and submitted directly to the person concerned, a copy to us that there has been no proven violation of ASN neutrality," said Umar Achmad Seth as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 30.

He said the KASN recommendation had been issued about two weeks ago and had been copied to the NTB Bawaslu.

"Persisnya sekitar dua minggu yang lalu (rekomendasi KASN) keluar," kata ketua Divisi Penanganan Pelanggaran Bawaslu NTB itu.

Meanwhile, Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenti emphasized that his party would still warn ASN and other high-ranking officials not to take actions that led to campaigning for one of the election participants.

Lolly explained that the mechanism for handling alleged violations of ASN neutrality is in the realm of Bawaslu.

"When talking about ASN neutrality, Bawaslu will conduct a study, when declared a violation, it is given a recommendation to KASN to be followed up. In KASN there is an internal mechanism that they carry out. Bawaslu's obligation is to ensure and supervise Bawaslu's recommendations to be followed up. For example, internally KASN stated that it was not proven to violate the code of ethics, once declared unproven, we checked the legal basis, that's what matters," explained Lolly.

However, Lolly admitted that the public could provide a separate interpretation regarding the decision issued by KASN.

"Later, the public will conduct their own assessment. This is what must be understood, the Bawaslu limitation side; because it is a matter of norms, once handling other violations of the law, it is a recommendation to related institutions," he said.
