Semarang Police are investigating the alleged death of a student with the initials IB (21), a resident of Boyolali Regency, Central Java, who allegedly died after committing an attempted suicide in a plantation area around KM 443 of the Semarang-Solo toll road in the Tuntang area, Semarang Regency.

Semarang Police Chief AKBP Achmad Oka Mahendra said this was known from a report by the toll road manager who found a car from Solo to Semarang parked on the side of the road on Thursday (28/12) afternoon.

Officers then combed the area around the location to find out the owner of the car. The police then received a report from the PDAM pipeline guard who was on a cliff under the toll road about the discovery of an unknown person.

"Officers then evacuated the victim to the hospital," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 29.

The victim, who received help at the hospital, was later declared dead.

From the results of the doctor's examination, he said, there were no signs of violence.

According to him, the victim suffered injuries to his head, chest, and leg fractures which were thought to have fallen from an altitude of about 50 meters.

"The victim's body has been handed over to the family for burial," he said.
