MRT Jakarta Adjusts Operational Patterns On New Year's Eve 2024

JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta adjusted its train operational pattern during the 2024 New Year's Eve celebrations. This adjustment was made to support people who participated in celebrating Mudi Young Night in the Sudirman-Thamrin and Jakarnaval areas at the National Monument (Monas).

"In order to enliven the 2024 New Year celebrations and also support the 2024 New Year's Jakarta Young Night Festival, PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will implement a special operating schedule," said Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta Ahmad Pratomo in his statement, Friday, December 29.

In detail, on Sunday, December 31, 2023, MRT Jakarta operates from 05.00-24.00 WIB with a distance between trains or a 10-minute headway.

Then on Monday, January 1, 2024, MRT Jakarta operates at 00.00-02.00 WIB, followed at 05.00-24.00 WIB.

"After the MRT train time at 00.00-01.00 WIB 5 minutes, 01.00-02.00 WIB 10 minutes, and 05.00-24.00 WIB 10 minutes," said Pratomo.

Meanwhile, the departure of the last Jakarta MRT train from Lebak Bulus Grab Station to HI Roundabout Station at 01.10 WIB, Lebak Bulus Grab Station to Blok M BCA Station at 01.25 WIB, HI Roundabout Station to Lebak Bulus Grab Station at 01.31 WIB.

Pratomo explained that the change in the pattern of operations was a follow-up to the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency Number e-0180 of 2023 concerning Assignment to PT MRT Jakarta and PT LRT Jakarta for the Provision of Railway Services Supporting Young Nights, Jakarta, Global City, New Year's 2024.

The pattern of operation for the next day will return to using a normal operational schedule, namely working days (Mondays) from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB with an interval for departures between trains every five minutes during peak time (07.00 09.00 and 17.00 19.00) and an interval for departures between trains every ten minutes outside of busy time.

Meanwhile, on Saturday-Sunday, operations start from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB with an interval for departure between ten trains.

Welcoming the new year 2024, quite a number of events will take place in Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global on New Year's Eve 2024 with a series of events ranging from Jakarnaval, the music stage, video screening to drone shows.

The Mudi Young Night event was filled with six activities, namely Gemilang Silang Monas, Jakarnaval, Main Stage of HI Roundabout, Kirana Jakarta, Jalan MH Thamrin Stage and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Stage.

In the first segment Gemilang Silang Monas will display video screenings, dancing fountains, entertainment and so on.

Then, to the southwest of Monas, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI established a opening stage called Jakarnaval (Jakarta Karnival). This year's Jakarnaval theme is "Indonesian Legend Intellectual Property" (IP) based character or intellectual property-based character from the works of the nation's children.

Jakarnaval will also feature a variety of ornamental cars with attractive lights and decorations made by the nation's children such as Sri Asih, Si Juki, Si Unyil, Si Blind from Hantu Cave and Satria Dewa Gatotkaca.

Furthermore, along Jalan MH Thamrin such as in the Sarinah area and the HI Roundabout. Various interesting entertainment in Sarinah will feature entertainment, acoustic stage, and sculptured human artwork.
