Attorney General's Office Officially Adds The Directorate Of Jampidmil

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has officially added one directorate to the work arrangement. This addition is based on Presidential Regulation (Pepres) RI No. 15 of 2021 concerning the Organization and Work Procedure of the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office.

Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, said the new Directorate was inaugurated, namely the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes (Jampidmil).

"(The Presidential Decree) is correct. It was issued and signed by the president. We just need to see how the next developments are for implementation," said Leonard.

With the addition, said Leonard, his party is currently preparing a structure within the directorate. In fact, it has not been determined whether the leader of the directorate will come from the prosecutor or representatives from the military.

"We will still see further implementation (who is in charge) of the regulation," he said.

Later, the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes will serve as an assistant leadership element in carrying out the duties and powers of the Prosecutor's Office in the field of technical coordination of prosecutions carried out by prosecutors and handling connection cases.

This means that the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes will handle cases involving members of the TNI, ranging from investigations to prosecution at the Military Court.

"Later, for example, there is a connection case, later the military prosecutor will participate in carrying out the prosecution function and the investigation function," said Leonard.

For information, the Attorney General's Office already has 6 directorates led by a Junior Attorney General, including Deputy Attorney General for Development, Junior Attorney General for Intelligence, Junior Attorney General for General Crimes, Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Junior Attorney General for Civil Affairs and State Administration, Deputy Attorney General for Supervision.
