There Is No Prohibition Of Fireworks On New Year's Eve 2024 In Pekalongan

JATENG - Pekalongan City Government (Pemkot) allows the public to hold fireworks parties and other activities to welcome New Year's Eve 2024.

Pekalongan Mayor Afzan Arslan Djunaid said his party did not prohibit the public from welcoming the turn of the New Year 2024 because the central government had not issued instructions for limiting activities related to COVID-19 cases.

"This means that people are allowed to carry out various activities celebrating the New Year 2024 such as fireworks and other celebrations. However, we ask residents to continue to pay attention to security and order," he said in Pekalongan, Central Java (Central Java), Thursday, December 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, a number of points that have the potential for crowds during New Year's Eve 2024 celebrations include Mataram, Jetayu, Alun-Alun, Monument Juang, and Pasir Kencana Beach Marine Tourism Park.

"Therefore, we ask related agencies to prepare security for the momentum of the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays," he said.

Afzan said the Pekalongan City area is a point of fatigue for both travelers from Jakarta or West Java and from East Java, so travelers must be vigilant and careful on the road.

The city government, he continued, had alerted officers from the Transportation Service and the police who were "standby 24 hours" during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

"We urge travelers to be vigilant and careful when going home to their hometowns. Do not force yourself to continue the journey if you are tired but it is better to rest in the rest area," he said.
