Hopefully The Vice President Of The 2024 Election Results Will Not Play A Role Like The President, Ma'ruf Amin: It Could Be A Problem

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin hopes that the figure of the vice president elected in the 2024 election will not act as a 'ban serep' or as a reserve official.

"The vice president is the vice president, don't think the vice president can be a problem. The vice president is tasked with helping the president and working on what the president has assigned," said Ma'ruf on the sidelines of a working visit in Semarang City, Central Java, Thursday, December 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said a vice president must take part in various government programs, at least conveying views in each series of cabinet meetings.

The task delegation mandated by the president, he said, must focus on doing it.

"If what is handed over by the president must focus on doing it. For example, stunting, I will continue to lead a coordination meeting to review the field, calculate cases in the regions and what kind of interventions," he said.

On that occasion, Ma'ruf appreciated the program for providing children's nutrition in order to overcome stunting called day care Rumah Penanganan Stunting Lintas Sektor Bagi Baduka (Pelita) in West Semarang District.

This Pelita house is a form of stunting treatment from upstream to downstream involving the Health Office as a caregiver, cook, to nutritionist assistance.

Pelita's house in West Semarang is targeting stunting drones due to parental parenting constraints, so that the focus is on working mothers who do not have child care.

"I am interested in nutrition. Here there is a day care for children who are cared for, the number of participants increases by 60 percent. If this model is successful, we will develop something like that, later we will transmit it to other regions," he said.

According to Ma'ruf, the task should have been carried out by the vice president as a form of delegation of duties from the president.

Another example of the vice president's task, he continued, is the effort to reduce the national extreme poverty rate to reach zero percent.

"Now in 2024, there are only zero comas. The range is but the target is almost achieved. Because of how programs in the regions deal with extreme poverty," he said.

Vice President Ma'ruf is also active in efforts to empower the people's economy related to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector, which now reaches 98.9 percent of entrepreneurs in Indonesia. "We continue to encourage the problem of MSMEs," he said.

Ma'ruf also said that the national sharia economic sector is currently quite accomplished and is developing well.

Ma'ruf also consistently embodies the New Autonomous Region (DOB) program in Papua, namely the Provinces of South Papua, Central Papua, Papua Mountains, and Southwest Papua.

Three provinces, South Papua, Central Papua, and Papua Mountains are the result of expansion from the Papua region. Meanwhile, Southwest Papua is a expansion of West Papua Province.

"I went to Papua to see what they wanted and equalize the perception that the DOB was built for," he said.

Ma'rif hopes that the elected vice president can be even better than the achievements he has achieved.

"Don't say the spare tire, but its function as vice president, don't be vice president. The vice president must comply with the portion," he said.
