Former KPU Member Wahyu Setiawan Responds To KPK Calls Regarding The Harun Masiku Case

JAKARTA - Former member of the General Election Commission (KPU), Wahyu Setiawan, has fulfilled the summons of the investigation team of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Thursday, December 28. Setiawan's revelation will undergo examination as a witness regarding the investigation into the alleged bribery case for the determination of members of the DPR for the period 2019 to 2024 that ensnared Harun Masiku. KPK is known to have named Harun Masiku as a suspect in the case. However, until now Harun is still at large and is on the wanted list of people (DPO). "The information we have received has been attended and immediately examined by the Investigative Team," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri, Thursday, December 28. Previously, KPK Chairman Nawawi Pomolango confirmed that the completion of a number of cases would be a priority, including Harun Masiku's search, which is still at large. According to him, the leadership has even signed a new search and arrest letter needed by the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK. "All cases are still and have such status (suspects like Harun Masiku are still at large, red) will be a priority rather than the KPK," said Nawawi. Nawawi said KPK leadership has asked the newly appointed Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of KPK Rudi Setiawan regarding the completion of this case. They also questioned Harun's search commitment. "We asked him for efforts to handle, the arrest of DPO Harun Masiku, the person concerned is committed," he said. " hence he asked for an update of the assignment letter to search for HM and that was what was done so that we have issued the new letter products needed," continued Nawawi. Harun Masiku is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan is still at large. He became a suspect because he is suspected of bribing him to become a member of the DPR through the interim time change mechanism (PAW).

He has been on the wanted list (DPO) since January 29, 2020. Most recently, the KPK informed that the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia had issued a red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku on Friday, July 30. In carrying out this search, the KPK has collaborated with a number of parties such as the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police and the Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).
