The Sumbawa District Attorney (Kejari) handled a case of alleged corruption in the medical equipment procurement project (alkes) at the Sumbawa Hospital with state losses estimated at IDR 1.1 billion.

"What we are handling is related to the follow-up to the findings of the Sumbawa District Inspectorate from the results of the 2022 BLUD (regional public service agency) budget management examination," said Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Sumbawa Kejari Indra Zulkarnaen in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Wednesday, December 27, confiscated by Antara.

Indra explained that the emergence of state losses of billions of rupiah came from the alleged inflated price of goods and debt payments for the procurement of patient beds.

He added that the findings of the inspectorate had previously been submitted to the Director of the Sumbawa Hospital, Dede Hasan Basri at that time.

"He (Dede Hasan Basri) received the report on the results of the inspectorate's examination as PPK (commitment-making official) for the BLUD project," he said.

As the PPK responsible for recovering the state's losses, he said, Dede Hasan Basri had conveyed his ability to the inspectorate to resolve the problem.

"So, we are still waiting for the efforts of the person concerned to complete his responsibilities. If it is not resolved until the specified time limit, we will increase the case to an investigation," he said.
