Ahead Of Lukas Enembe's Body Arriving In Jayapura, Papuan Traditional Leaders Ask The Community To Maintain Order

PAPUA - Papuan Traditional Leaders ask the public to maintain the security of public order (kamtibmas) in Jayapura Regency, which was still an atmosphere for the 2023 Christmas celebration.

Especially ahead of the arrival of the body of former Papua Governor Lukas Enembe to Jayapura after he died while being treated at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital today, Tuesday, December 26.

"We made this appeal to prevent unwanted things when the body of the late Mr. Lukas Enembe arrived at Sentani Airport and was paraded by his family," said Papuan Traditional Leader Yanto Eluay when contacted in Sentani, Jayapura, Papua, Tuesday, December 26, as reported by Antara.

According to Eluay, Jayapura Regency is a big home for all people from various ethnic groups in Indonesia so that harmony and peace are maintained.

"This is still a Christmas atmosphere so that we should be grateful and biological for the peace and joy of the birth of Christ as self-introspection in the future, we must maintain peace here," he said.

He explained that indigenous peoples in Jayapura Regency uphold the values of tolerance, brotherhood, peace, and the spirit of love.

"Whoever he is, a person who comes and lives in Jayapura Regency must respect the noble values of the indigenous people here while maintaining peace. Moreover, this is still the Christmas atmosphere," he said.

He added that God gave the breath of life so that at any time it was taken, must be steadfast and sincere in the destiny of the will of the Almighty.

"No community should think that life and death are determined by other humans, that is wrong. Because every person who dies will definitely die in their own way because it has been outlined by Allah," he said.

The appeal was conveyed because Yanto Eluay was worried that when he picked up the body of the late Lukas Enembe at Sentani Airport and was paraded to the place where he was buried there would be anarchism and destruction of public facilities by the family and sympathizers of the deceased.
