PLN Alerts 2,371 Personnel To Secure Electricity In Flood-Affected Locations In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Several areas were flooded after extreme rains occurred in the Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jadetabek) areas. For safety reasons, PT PLN (Persero) has temporarily stopped electricity flow.

On Friday, February 19, a total of 7 electrical substations, 7 departments for low-voltage networks and a total of 2,667 customers were affected. Until 12.00 WIB, only 1 substation and 341 customers are on.

There are also areas in Greater Jakarta that are still extinguished due to the location of residents' houses affected by the flood, namely East Jakarta in Cipinang Bali, Cipinang Melayu, Cipinang Bali 4. Meanwhile, the areas of Bekasi that have been hit are Komp. IKIP lecturer, Kel. Jatikramat, Kec. Jatiasih, Jl. Bintara Jaya II, Jl. Kalimalang and Perum Pondok Gede Permai (Jl. Merak, Jl. Nusa Indah, Jl. Sunan Drajat)

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya B. Pangaribuan said that his party immediately took quick steps to deal with the affected areas by alerting personnel.

"Some of the preventive efforts made by PLN UID Jakarta Raya, namely alerting 2,371 personnel, equipping 6 pump house supplier substations with switching equipment, and conducting inspections and maintenance of low-voltage cables for immediate repairs in case of anomalies, especially in locations that are often used for shelter. when it rains, "he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, February 19.

Doddy also appealed to people whose areas were flooded to be able to turn off electricity from the Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), remove all electrical equipment that was still connected to the socket, raise electronic devices to a safer place.

"There are several things that force us to turn off the electricity, such as if the distribution substation is submerged, the customer's house is submerged, the customer's house and distribution station are submerged, or if the substation is submerged. We do this for the safety of the community together. We also continue to coordinate with related agencies in mitigation steps this rainy season, "he explained.

After the flood receded, said Doddy, he reminded all electronic equipment and electricity networks to be dry. PLN also ensures all electricity distribution networks are dry and safe to distribute electrical energy.

"After everything is safe, both on the side of the customer and PLN, then both parties will sign an official report on normalizing the flow of electricity after the flood," he said.
