JAKARTA - A young man with the initials AG suffered a sharp weapon stab wound until his right hand was cut off after being abused by an unknown group of youths on Jalan Kerja Bakti, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

The victim suffered serious injuries to the right wrist.

Kapolsek Makassar Kompol Rusit Malaka said the incident began when the victim who was hanging out after returning from work.

"While the victim was gathered with his friends at the portal (resident's settlement) in an open state, suddenly a group of people entered," said Commissioner Rusit when confirmed, Sunday, December 24.

Without previous disputes, the group of perpetrators who came driving several motorbikes immediately attacked AG using sharp weapons.

AG had tried to block the sharp weapon attack using his right hand, unfortunately his wrist broke until it suffered heavy bleeding.

"After the incident, the victim was immediately taken by residents to the Police Hospital because he was seriously injured in the right wrist. Currently, the victim is still being treated at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital," he said.

It is not yet known for sure the motive and identity of the sharp armed group, because after committing the act they rushed to drive the motorbike away.

Kompol Rusit explained that his party was still conducting further investigations regarding the identity of the perpetrators based on the statements of witnesses, and looking for CCTV footage around the scene.

"Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit have conducted a crime scene investigation. The witnesses who have been examined so far are two people. We have carried out a post-mortem for the victims being treated at the Police Hospital," he said.
