CPCS Survey Results: Gerindra Potentially Shifts PDIP In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The findings of the Center for Political Communication Studies (CPCS) survey show that Gerindra is superior with electability reaching 19.0 percent as well as shifting the position of PDI Perjuangan in the 2024 election.

The soaring Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election will have an electoral effect on Gerindra as its main supporting party.

"Gerindra is predicted to shift the dominance of the PDI-P in the legislative elections, meaning that the PDI-P has canceled itshattrick," said CPCS senior researcher Hatta Binhudi in a release received by Antara in Jakarta, Saturday.

The electability of the PDI-P was 16.7 percent, placing it in the second place and making it difficult for them to win the third time in this election.

According to Hatta, political parties who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) are starting to enjoy the coattail effect of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the 2024 presidential election.

"Gerindra has benefited the party's association with Prabowo as the general chairman and central figure since it was founded," said Hatta.

According to him, what distinguishes the 2024 presidential election and previous elections is the context of a long-changing political situation. In 2014 and 2019 Prabowo became Jokowi's rival, now Prabowo is actually a strong ally and a presidential candidate supported by Jokowi.

He emphasized that the advancement of Gibran, who is Jokowi's eldest son, proved Jokowi's support for Prabowo.
