SURABAYA - The Golkar Party provides two recommendations for the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in East Java. The recommendations were given to four candidates for four regions, namely East Java, Probolinggo, Mojokerto Regency and Mojokerto City.

From the names recorded, there is the name Khofifah Indar Parawansa as a candidate for governor (cagub) of East Java, Gus Dr. Muhamad Haris as a candidate for regent (cabup) Probolinggo, as well as a candidate for the head of Mojokerto and Cawali Mojokerto.

These four figures received official support from the Golkar Party. Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto directly submitted this recommendation in Surabaya, Saturday, December 23 at the Prabowo-Gibran Winning Consolidation event in the 2024 presidential election with East Java TKD.

Gus Haris was present with the chairman and secretary of the East Java TKD during the special moment. As part of the East Java Prabowo-Gibran TKD, Gus Haris expressed his appreciation for Golkar's recommendations on four regional head candidates, including Khofifah as the East Java cagub.

"God willing, together with Pak Prabowo, he will become president and Mas Gibran will become vice president in the 2024 presidential election. All qabul," said Gus Haris, who is also an adviser to the East Java TKD.

Gus Haris, known as the caretaker of the Ganggong Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School and adviser to the Gerindra Probolinggo Party, has previously received support from the Gerindra Party. With additional recommendations from the Golkar Party, Gus Haris now has increasingly solid political support to run in the Probolinggo Pilbup.

The submission of this recommendation coincided with the support given to Khofifah Indar Parawansa to run in the 2024 East Java gubernatorial election. With this support, Khofifah has also received recommendations from several other parties. Such as the Democratic Party and several other parties.

Khofifah, who has a long track record in the East Java and political governments, is seen as a person who is able to bring change and progress to East Java. This support from Golkar further strengthens his position in the upcoming East Java gubernatorial election contestation.
