Jokowi Admits Local Investors Are Bonding To Investment In IKN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he was happy because local investors were investing in the construction of the capital city of Nusantara, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan.

"Today I am very happy because there are investors from East Kalimantan, investors from Balikpapan who have played a role in the development of the capital city of Nusantara," said President Joko Widodo, in his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony for Nusantara Superblock at IKN, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, December 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

The President said the investment provided by local investors was very large, namely IDR 3 trillion and for large development.

The investment is large at IDR 3 trillion. What will be built is also not a small item. The land is 7.5 hectares, then the shopping center is 40,000 square meters, the five-star hotel is 215 rooms, the four-star hotel is 200 rooms, then eight towers are added, then two towers of office building and also international schools and entertainment venues," said Jokowi.

The Head of State expressed his appreciation for the investment, and hoped that in terms of design it would not be inferior to investors from Jakarta. He advised that the development design of local investors be consulted with the Head of the IKN Authority.

"I'll just leave one for the design, green building. Because what we want to build is an area throughout IKN, a green area, so the concept is different from cities around the world. But later it can be conveyed to the Sir (Head) of the Design Authority, so that later it will be guided, curated by Mr. Ridwan Kamil," he said.

Jokowi hopes that with the consultation, the concept of all development at IKN will be the same, namely referring to areas and green buildings.

"And we hope that later we can contribute to economic growth in East Kalimantan Province, especially in Balikpapan and can open up job opportunities, the widest possible employment opportunities for our people," he explained.

He said the Nusantara Superblock would truly become an attraction in IKN and make IKN a world-class capital city that is different from the capital city in other countries.

I think that's what I want to say. And by saying Bismillahirohmanirahim this afternoon laying the first stone, I officially declare the groundbreaking of the Nusantara Superblock starting, thank you," said the President.

Nusantara Superblock is located in the Central Government Core Area 1A. Area 7.2 hectares in front of the Zero Point monument, the national axis area.

Nusantara Superblock, which is a consortium, consists of shopping centers, apartments, and three five five-star hotels. The shopping center in the Nusantara Superblock covers an area of 55,733 square meters.

The value of the Nusantara Superblock project reached IDR 5 trillion.
