JAKARTA - A total of 11 RWs (Citizens Association) areas in West Jakarta were inundated with water with varying surface heights ranging from 31 to 70 centimeters as a result of the rain that fell since Friday, February 19, early morning.

The areas that were reported to be flooded include RW02, RW03 and RW15, Tegal Alur Village, and RW03 Pegadungan Village, Kalideres District.

Similar conditions also occur in Cengkareng District, including RW06 West Cengkareng Village, RW15 Kapuk Village, RW03 Cengkareng Timur, RW02 and RW03 Rawabuaya, as well as RW04 and RW05 Kembangan Utara.

Meanwhile, officials from the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) issued early warnings to the public along the riverbanks to be aware of potential flooding.

The officer announced through loudspeakers following the increase in the water level at Karet Water Gate reaching 460 centimeters, Manggarai Water Gate 810 centimeters, and Pulogadung Water Gate 610 centimeters.

"Until 04.00 WIB, the three floodgates status is alert 3. Residents were advised to be aware of the increase in TMA", said an officer.
