Jambi Police Propam Investigate Nyasar Bullet Incident To Pregnant Woman When Police Chase Suspect

Jambi Police Propam dispatched personnel to invest in the case of a pregnant woman who was hit by a bullet shot from a member of the West Tanjung Jabung Police Narcotics Unit (Tanjabar).

"Personnel (Propam) have gone down for investigation," said Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Mulia Prianto, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 18.

Previously, the stray bullet incident occurred on Sunday (17/12) and hit a victim named Dila who was six months pregnant. Currently pregnant women are being treated at Bhayangkara Hospital.

"His condition is normal, stable and conscious. Several Tanjabbar Police personnel accompanied him and covered all the medical expenses," he said.

According to him, if it is found that there is a violation of standard operating procedures (SOP) committed by members of the Tanjabbar Police, sanctions will be given, such as disciplinary sanctions or a valid code of ethics.

Tanjabar Police Chief AKBP Padli explained that on Sunday (17/12) at around 16.30 WIB, the local police received information that two people had suspicious movements at the transportation counter.

After receiving this information, two members of the Tanjabar Police Narcotics Unit went straight to the transportation counter, and when they arrived there they found a bag that was locked and then two people beside him.

Seeing this, members of the West Tanjab Police Narcotics Unit also asked them who the bag was being locked belonged to.

"Our members asked who this bag belonged to, and one of the people answered if the bag that was locked was not theirs, it was a handover bag," he said.

When asked again by members of the West Tanjab Police Narcotics Unit, they answered carefully.

Finally, one police officer arrested the suspect with the initials LK and one member brought the suspect with the initials F out of the counter to find out who the owner of the bag was and what it contained.

Then, when suspect F was asked by members of the West Tanjab Police Narcotics Unit, this suspect tried to escape. Members also gave warning shots upward.

During the second shot to stop suspect F from escaping, he said, the suspect dismissed the hands of a member of the West Tanjab Police Narcotics Unit.

"Finally the shot went to the women who were selling there, so it hit the left leg," he said.
