Semarang Prosecutor's Office Hunts For Housing Boss Of Convicts In Fraud Cases

SEMARANG - The Semarang City District Attorney (Kejari) is hunting for the boss of a luxury housing developer in Semarang, Siswo Nugroho, who fled after the Supreme Court (MA) sentenced the convict.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Semarang City Attorney General's Office, Cakra Budi Nur Hartanto, said that the convict in the luxury housing fraud case fled after the cassation decision was received in October 2023.

According to him, the Supreme Court sentenced Siswo Nugroho to two years in prison.

He invited the public to provide information if they found out the whereabouts of the convict in the fraud case.

"We ask the convict to surrender himself," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 18.

He explained that while undergoing trial at the Semarang District Court, Siswo Nugroho had been detained.

However, he continued, the court acquitted Siswo for assessing that the case being tried was a civil case.

"The public prosecutor then filed an appeal, while the defendant was finally released because the verdict was released," he said.
