Prabowo Alludes To Anies' Questions During A Viral Debate On Social Media: Ndasmu Ethics

JAKARTA - Video of presidential candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto, who allegedly insinuated the number one presidential candidate, Anies Baswedan, was busy on social media. This upload became the talk of netizens because the Minister of Defense (Menhan) said 'ethnics ndasmu'.

This video clip was originally uploaded by Twitter or X account, @ARSIPAJA with a duration of 20 seconds. At that time, Prabowo was seen talking on a closed agenda at the Gerindra Party National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, December 15.

The allegation of the remarks insinuated Anies was not without reason because this moment occurred in the inaugural debate of the presidential candidate held by the Indonesian KPU on Tuesday, December 12. The former governor of DKI Jakarta had mentioned the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the requirements for the presidential and vice presidential age limit that paved the way for Gibran Rakabuming Raka to run in the presidential election.

This decision then ended with the dismissal of Anwar Usman as Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court. The Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) at that time said that there had been an ethical violation in the form of a conflict of interest because Anwar was the uncle of Gibran.

"After you heard the nomination of the requirements for ethical problems, my question is, what did you feel when you heard there was an ethical violation there?" asked Anies at that time.

Prabowo, who initially relaxed, stated that he had heard the opinion of his team of legal experts that there was no problem with the ethical decision. Moreover, the Constitutional Court's decision is considered final and binding while he is only carrying out it.

However, Prabowo's tone was getting higher and he quipped that both were no longer small children. At that time, Anies responded with a smile.
