KPU Affirms Prohibition Of APK Installation In Houses Of Worship

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi), prohibits participants of the 2024 General Election from installing all forms and types of Campaign Performance (APK), in houses of worship in the region.

"One of the locations for the ban on the installation of the 2024 Election APK is houses of worship," said Head of the Sigi Soleman Regency KPU in Sigi, Wednesday.

Soleman admitted that the Sigi Regency KPU had issued Decree Number 81 of 2023 concerning the Determination of the APK Installation Location in the 2024 General Election.

Dalam keputusan itu, dijelaskan bahwa lokasi larangan pemasangan APK meliputi rumah ibadah, rumah sakit atau fasilitas tempat pelayanan kesehatan, tempat pendidikan meliputi perguruan tinggi, madrasa, dan sekolah semua tingkat level.

Then, government-owned buildings include offices, certain government-owned facilities, other facilities that if paired with the APK can disturb public order.

Next, the APK should not be installed or attached to trees, it should not be in green open spaces.

In accordance with this decision, Soleman stated that in installing the APK, it must pay attention to ethical, aesthetic, hygiene, environmental beauty and security elements.

Thus, the distance between billboards and banners is a minimum of five centimeters.

"And if you install the APK in the community's yard, the owner must have permission and do not refer to the distance settings," he said.

Election participants, he said, can install APK in each post or office of election participants.

It is known that the installation of the APK is only permitted during the campaign period, starting from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024.
