National Police Chief: No Manual Tickets During Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that for the time being his party had temporarily eliminated manual ticketing in welcoming the Christmas and New Year's 2024 holidays.

"If there are (drivers) who violate, we will urge them, we remind them, and temporarily we will not impose manual tickets," said National Police Chief Sigit at the Jakarta Presidential Palace as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 11.

The National Police Chief said that his party together with the TNI and other stakeholders deployed 129,923 joint personnel.

He hopes that even though there is no manual ticket, people can really respect each other and take care of other people who use the road, so that the safety between road users can be maintained.

"Then I also conveyed that in this series of Christmas and New Year's activities, we certainly urge the public to be careful on the road, because safety must still be maintained," he said.

The National Police Chief also appealed to people who would leave their homes to go home to report it to the nearest police station. He admitted that he had ordered the ranks to record and conduct patrols in the home environment left for homecoming.

Sigit also opens opportunities for the public to entrust vehicles or valuables at the nearest police station if they want to leave homecoming, if possible.

"Of course we are also preparing our offices if they really want to be entrusted, whether it's a vehicle or something else, other valuables that may worry if their house is abandoned will occur in a situation that they think is not safe, then the Police are ready to help accommodate and secure it," said Sigit, quoted by Antara.
