Had Socialized Voters At Religious Celebrations, The Indonesian Consulate General In Los Angeles Still Encouraged Indonesian Citizens' Participation In The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Los Angeles, United States (US), Purnomo Ahmad Chandra said the Indonesian Consulate General of LA in collaboration with the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) was aggressively conducting massive socialization in an effort to encourage active participation of Indonesian citizens in the 2024 General Election.

"Continue to carry out socialization, including utilizing various celebrations of religious and national holidays. In addition, socialization is carried out through the Indonesian Consulate General's social media and PPLN," said Konjen Purnomo when contacted, Monday, December 11, as quoted by Antara.

According to the Consul General, the Indonesian Consulate General in LA together with PPLN and Panwaslu in various activities continue to campaign for the importance of respecting differences in political views and maintaining togetherness among the nation's children. "It is also important to be a part so that this democratic party runs calmly, safely and fairly".

In addition, he said, the Indonesian Consulate General in LA also embraces religious and community leaders to continue to echo the importance of maintaining togetherness and inciting peaceful and cool elections which will take place in February.

The Consul General said that the enthusiasm of Indonesian citizens in the LA region to participate in the upcoming 2024 election is very high.

"This is evidenced by the increase in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) by 26 percent when compared to the 2019 election, which amounted to 12,631 voters," he said.

According to Indonesian Consulate General's data, the number of DPT for the 2024 election in the region is 15,717 voters.

The Indonesian Consulate General in LA has twice held activities that carry the theme of concert togetherness and people's parties by involving Indonesian citizens and Diaspora with the aim of fostering togetherness as well as mitigating all forms of potential disputes in the political year.

"For this reason, the Indonesian Consulate General in LA will hold activities that involve the wider community with the aim of inviting Indonesian citizens and the Diaspora to return to unity after the 2024 General Election," he concluded.
