Rafael Square's Trial Of Alleged Gratification-TPPU, Maximum Prison Sentence For Life

JAKARTA - Former official of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Rafael Alun Trisambodo will undergo a follow-up trial in cases of alleged gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

There is also Article 12 B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law / 31/1999 which is subject to a criminal sentence with a minimum period of 4 years and a maximum of 20 years or life.

The public prosecutor (JPU) will read out the demands in the trial.

Based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court, the trial will begin at around 10.00 WIB.

"(The trial) is for prosecution," wrote the SIPP page of the Central Jakarta District Court, quoted by VOI, Monday, December 11.

The plan is for the trial to read this demand to be held in the Kusuma Atmadja courtroom.

The trial for reading this statement was after Rafael Alun Trisambodo underwent an examination as a defendant before the panel of judges.

In the case of gratification and money laundering offenses, the prosecutor charged Rafael Alun Trisambodo with receiving gratuities worth Rp. 16.6 billion. He is suspected of having received with his wife, Ernie Meike Torondek.

The acceptance of gratuities is through PT ARME, PT Cubes Consulting, PT Cahaya Kalbar and PT Krisna Bali International Cargo. This is related to the position and is contrary to Rafael's obligations or duties.

In addition to gratification, Rafael was also charged with taking money laundering (TPPU) with a value of Rp. 100 billion.

Thus, Rafael Alun is suspected of violating Article 12 B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

In that article, criminal penalties will be subject to a minimum period of 4 years and a maximum of 20 years or life. In addition, a fine of a minimum amount of IDR 200 million and a maximum of IDR 1 billion will be imposed.
