Continue Jokowi's Downstream Program, Prabowo: That's The Future Of The Indonesian Nation

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he would continue Jokowi's downstream program. According to Prabowo, if you don't continue the downstream program, it will be difficult for Indonesia to become a strong and great country.

"We will perfect the downstreaming, we will improve it, because downstreaming is the future of the Indonesian nation," Prabowo said at the Prabowo-Gibran Winning Consolidation event at Sentul International Convention Center, Sentul, Sunday, December 10.

Prabowo admitted that he had the same thoughts and ideologies as President Joko Widodo regarding the downstream program.

"That's why I am united with Pak Jokowi not only because of good relations, because of our thoughts, our strategies, our views for an advanced Indonesia are the same. Our ideology is the same, our ideology is actually the ideals of the entire Indonesian nation, Bung Karno's ideals from the start, Indonesia stands on our own feet," Prabowo said in his speech.

Downstreaming is a sustainable economic transformation process, where commodity-based industrialization policies are of high added value, towards a more complex economic structure.

Meanwhile, according to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) downstream or DOWNstreaming is a process of processing raw materials into ready-to-use goods.

Prabowo assessed that Jokowi's downstream program would bring prosperity to the Indonesian people.

"Many countries are worried and don't like it when Indonesia downstream, they want to take our goods, take our goods cheaply, then our goods are processed at their factories, after that they sell their products dozens of times to us," explained Prabowo.

"Pak Jokowi is brave and firm in saying No!. From now on, we no longer want to sell our cheap materials to other nations," he continued.

In addition to continuing the downstream program, Prabowo in his speech also emphasized that he would continue Jokowi's existing programs and is currently undergoing.

"We will continue the development that has been carried out by President Jokowi, we do not hesitate to say that we will continue the IKN, we will continue the BPJS, we will continue the Pre-Employment Card, we will continue the Smart Indonesia Card," said Prabowo.
