With A Capital Of 'only' IDR 500 Million, You Can Become A Shell Petrol Station Entrepreneur!

JAKARTA - Shell Indonesia is looking for business partners to manage fueling stations (SPBU) in Surabaya and Medan, where with a capital of IDR 500 million, you can operate up to three Shell gas stations.

The Shell gas station business opportunity in Surabaya and Medan is a Company Owned Dealer Operated (CODO) partnership program. Partners only need to provide initial capital and without the need to own land, buildings and equipment.

Shell will lend assets in the form of gas stations that have been built and are ready to be managed by its partners. The completeness of this infrastructure also includes supporting businesses at gas stations that will also be run by partners such as convenience stores, coffee shops and workshops.

"We see that the Shell program which provides opportunities for partners to run a gas station business is a win-win solution, because we can partner with the best entrepreneurs in their respective regions and vice versa they get the opportunity to become gas station business entrepreneurs with a capital of Rp 500 million," Retail Business Optimization Manager for Shell Indonesia Sari Rachmi, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 18.

This partnership program has been running for 15 years in DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java and East Java. To date, Shell has worked with 45 Partners to manage 121 gas stations in these provinces.

"Initially, I thought starting a gas station business needed a lot of capital. It turned out that Shell had a business model that allowed me to become a gas station entrepreneur with an initial capital of Rp. 500 million," said one of Shell's partners, Bernardus Bayuardi.

"I was immediately interested because I saw the long-term business potential through this Shell SPBU partnership. Currently, I manage three gas stations in Jakarta," he added.

Requirements to do gas station business with Shell include Indonesian citizens aged 30-50 years, having an initial capital of IDR 500 million and ready to manage gas stations in the Surabaya and Medan areas.
