Angin Puting Beliung Damaged 11 Houses Of Rejang Lebong Residents

REJANG LEBONG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu, said 11 houses in North Curup District were damaged by a tornado.

"There has been a tornado that hit residential areas in Pahlawan Village, Perbo Village, and Tunas Harapan Village, North Curup District, on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, around 12.20 WIB," said Head of BPBD Rejang Lebong Shalahuddin as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 6.

The tornado damaged 11 houses in three different locations, then damaged one village head office and gas station.

The houses of residents and the village head office as well as gas stations, he said, were damaged on the roof with heavy and moderate categories, but none of the buildings collapsed.

His party together with the TNI/Polri assisted by residents are still collecting data in the field considering that after this tornado it rained with moderate intensity.

"Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties, for losses we are currently collecting data," he said.

According to him, currently the Rejang Lebong Regency area has entered the rainy season so that residents in the area must increase their vigilance because of the potential for natural disasters such as floods, landslides, tornadoes and volcanic eruptions can occur at any time.

To anticipate the loss of life of BPBD Rejang Lebong, Pusdalops personnel, the TRC team and village/kelurahan-level volunteers have now been alerted.

Then one unit of loader heavy equipment was also alerted, public kitchen cars, tank cars and food aid, medicines, cooking utensils and others.
