Landslides In Sukabumi Hoard 2 Residents

SUKABUMI - A landslide that occurred in Pamuruyan Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, buried two residents resulting in the death of one victim.

"The victim who died was identified as Encop Sopiah (51) and the survivor, namely Eva (20), both of whom were residents of RT 02/01, Cisarua Village, Nagrak District," said Nagrak Police Chief Iptu Teguh Putra Hidayat as reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 4.

According to information gathered from the police, the landslide was triggered by heavy rain so that the water discharge of the Cicatih River flowing behind the victim's house increased.

The strong river current eroded the foundations and soil, causing landslides. The disaster that occurred at around 21.00 WIB, while the victim was sleeping.

The impact of the landslide was that the victim's house was carried away by a landslide down to the banks of the Cicatih River. The victim encop could not save himself and his body was buried in the ground.

Meanwhile, another victim, Eva, was buried in the ground. The joint SAR team who received information about a landslide that resulted in the death toll rushed to the location.

The SAR team immediately rescued the two victims, but unfortunately when the victim was evacuated, the victim was dead while Eva's life was saved.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Sukabumi Police, Iptuwas Saepul Rohman, said that the two victims had been evacuated to the Sekarwangi Cibadak Hospital. The survivors are still recovering while the bodies of the deceased victims have been buried in public cemeteries not far from the scene.
