Establish The Faculty Of Medicine UBT Kaltara, Efforts To Fulfill Health Workers In Tapal Limits

JAKARTA - Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Zainal Arifin Paliwang said, Borneo Tarakan University plans to open a Doctor's Professional Medical and Education Study Program.

This will be a milestone in history and strategic steps to meet the needs of health workers (nakes) in border areas.

"We believe that the Doctor's Professional Medical and Education Study Program can produce quality health workers who are ready to serve the people of Kaltara," said the Governor during an audience with the ranks of the Higher Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Monday, December 4.

In a meeting attended by various related parties, the Mayor of Tarakan, Khairul, the Chancellor of the University of Borneo, Adri Patton and the Chancellor of Gadjah Mada University, Ova Emilia, discussed plans to open a Medical Study and Medical Education Program at the University of Borneo Tarakan which has received approval.

"We are committed to continuing to support the development of health education in Kaltara. The opening of this study program is clear evidence that we are investing in the future of public health in Kaltara," he said.

The plan, continued the Governor, will involve close cooperation between local governments, universities, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of this program based on Kaltara's vision and mission.

In addition, the Governor also highlighted the positive impact of the plan to open the study program. Such as increasing the capacity of human resources in the health sector can also support the development of the tourism sector and other industries in Kaltara.

"In addition to providing access to higher education in the health sector, the opening of the Medical Study and Medical Education Program at the University of Borneo Tarakan is expected to create new jobs and improve the local economy," concluded Zainal.
