In The Past Three Days, Bulog's Online Rice Sales Have Been Selling Well

JAKARTA - President Director of Bulog, Budi Waseso, said that his party would continue to improve rice distribution channels, both with modern and online market channels. According to him, the current government has very strong distribution channels.

"Already, some have (increased purchases) for commercial use yesterday, right through Bulog's p Handan.com, one day we can sell our rice at a value of Rp.171 million per day," he said, at Bulog Warehouse, Sunter, North Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4th.

Buwas revealed, Bulog's online rice sales had increased in the past three days. Whereas previously, sales were only in the amount of 70 to 80 million at the maximum.

"But these three consecutive days it has started to increase from Rp. 129 to Rp. 171 million. On the same level, I don't know exactly, but that's our products, which we sell online," he explained.

However, Buwas denied that the increase in online rice sales was related to the news that the corona virus or COVID-19 had entered Indonesian territory.

"No, no. It means that there is no harvest time, so that people's needs now in the market are running low, buy it from Bulog," he said.

For PSO market operations through retail, said Buwas, there is also a lot of cheap rice. However, cheap rice does not mean low quality rice. However, this was deliberately issued by Bulog to provide options to the community.

"Not low quality, it can be checked. There is rice that we put in Alfamart, Indomaret, yes it is cheap rice, including online. But it is for the public service obligation (PSO), price stabilization. Don't panic, every time the rice comes out. "The warehouse goes through the rice to rice process. So, it comes out in good condition. The average PSO per month is 150,000 tons," he said.

Regarding the remaining 900 thousand tonnes of export in Bulog's warehouse, said Buwas, it can last a long time as long as it is well cared for.

"As long as we take good care of him, the standard of care, I think we can still survive. You can see for yourself, our system, how our treatment is. Today was checked, randomized was also good. The results were good, yes, the one from Thailand (already). More than one year is also good. We also have domestic rice from Sulawesi that is also good. So we are ready with good rice conditions, "he said.
