KEDIRI - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa reviewed the operational preparations for Dhoho International Airport in Kediri Regency.

Khofifah is optimistic that the existence of this airport will be able to move multi-sectors, starting from the economy, infrastructure, tourism, education, culture and interaction between nations.

During his visit, Khofifah reviewed starting from the preparation of check-In counter services, domestic waiting room, international waiting room, international departure immigration examination room, international arrival immigration examination room, customs inspection room and international baggage collection room to garbarata access, apron and runway.

"This airport is our extraordinary strength to build a balance of growth in the development of the North and South regions of East Java," said Khofifah, Friday, December 1.

Dhoho Airport has a number of advantages. With a runway length of 3,300 m x 45 m, this airport is capable of being accommodated by the largest aircraft B777-300ER. Not only that, this airport flight or taxiway is stretched along 306 m x 32 m and 438 m x 32 m. The Dhoho airport terminal building, which measures 18,224 M2, is capable of a capacity of 1.5 million passengers per year.

"Please pray, hopefully Dhoho airport will soon operate and serve commercial flights in the not too distant future," he said.

According to him, regional development cannot be built with a symmetric but asymmetric approach. Because there is an infrastructure need that must be added and facilitated. "The people of Mataraman, especially Kediri Raya, I think various supporting infrastructures including the Kediri - Tulungagung toll road and so on are strengthening to prepare to provide support for the presence of dho airports in Kediri," he said.

With the presence of Dhoho airport in Kediri, said Khofifah, it will have a fairly broad impact on many development sectors. In the education sector, the existence of this airport will certainly require the improvement of the quality development of human resources in the Kediri Raya area.

Likewise in the agribusiness sector, where development production around Mount Wilis includes coffee, cocoa, seedless avocado and pineapple, which so far have been very good at home and abroad.
