Try To Seize Weapons, Three KKB Members Killed In Sugapa Papua

JAYAPURA - Head of Information for Kogabwilhan III Colonel CZI IGN Suriastawa confirmed that the three people who were shot dead in Sugapa were members of the armed criminal group (KKB). They tried to seize firearms belonging to the joint military / police apparatus.

"The shooting was because they tried to seize firearms belonging to members guarding the Sugapa Community Health Center, Monday (15/2)," said Colonel Suriastawa, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.

Initially, the joint TNI / Polri apparatus pursued the perpetrator of the shooting who killed Prada Ginanjar, a member of Yonif 400 / BR.

When examining a man named Janius Bagau, he escaped by jumping into a cliff so that the members were forced to shoot him.

Previously, the joint military / police officers fired warning shots. However, Janius did not heed it, instead running away with a wound to his hand.

"We then received information that a resident with gunshot wounds was taken to the puskesmas," said Colonel Suriastawa.

The victim was then taken by the Bilogai Catholic Church's pastor who was accompanied by several residents.

After matching the KTP in question, he continued, the person was Janius Bagau, a KKB member who often carried out acts of terror in Sugapa.

Janius was one of the signatories to a war statement with the TNI / Polri some time ago.

According to Suriastawa, while receiving treatment at the Sugapa Health Center, Janius Bagau was visited by two of his colleagues.

The three of them tried to escape by attacking and trying to seize weapons from the joint military / police officers who were on guard at the puskesmas until they were shot.

After being matched with the identity and several other items of evidence, such as a war declaration by the KKB, his party confirmed that the three were members of the KKB who had often carried out acts of terror and attacks on the public and security forces in Sugapa.

"It has been coordinated with the local government for the management of the three bodies of KKB members," he said.

Suriastawa then named the three KKB members as Janius Bagau, Januarius Sani, and Justinus Bagau.
