Police Examine Witness In Case Of Student Death In Karanganyar During Self-Defense Exercise

The Karanganyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Central Java Province examined a witness related to the death of a student with the initials WA (14), a resident of Manggung Cangakan while attending a martial arts activity exercise at the Cangakan Village Elementary School, local Regency.

"We are still examining witnesses to reveal the case of the death of the victim WA while participating in martial arts training," said Head of the Karanganyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Setiyanto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 29.

Setiyanto said the case of the victim's death was still waiting for the results of the post-mortem and the police had named five suspected perpetrators or suspects in WA's death, who are currently still in junior high school (SMP).

The police then arrested a number of friends of the victim to be used as witnesses in the incident. After being examined, five of the dozens of people who were previously witnesses were named as the main perpetrators or suspects in the case.

The five people are friends of the victim, two of whom are adults and three others are minors. The police not only named five of the victim's friends as perpetrators. The police at the incident also secured a number of evidences in the form of clothes worn by the victim while participating in pencak silat training which was reportedly held twice a week.

The police also managed to collect a number of evidences, including one shop for the victim's pencak silat college clothes and two other defendants belonging to the injured victim.

Five suspected perpetrators are temporarily detained for further investigation and can apply Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning violence against people with a maximum penalty of 10 years.

He said his party from the autopsy results carried out by the police on the victim's body had not been able to inform the results and the maximum results of the autopsy would only be known after about a week in the future.

The incident in the case of WA's death began with the victim and his friend doing a pencak silat exercise at the Cangakan Karanganyar Elementary School, on Sunday (26/11), at around 15.00 WIB.

The victim as a resident was only charged with bringing four students during training but because the victim did not get four students, the victim finally received a penalty in the form of a (dower), namely the attitude of the horses taking a breath and then being beaten and chased by their seniors.

The victim at 16.00 WIB when he was sentenced to a kick and a breathing blow by his senior, the victim fell and slit finally by the witness was given first aid by giving water after being given drinking water and brought to the classroom terrace.

The victim's condition got worse when he was holding his hand cold and the heartbeat was gone, finally the victim was taken to the emergency room house at the Karanganyar District Hospital.
