SERANG - Mobile Investigation Team (Resmob) Serang Police Satreskrim arrested the perpetrator of iron theft at the Tangerang-Merak toll road barrier. The suspect with the initials JN (54) was registered as a resident of Tegal Maja Village, Kragilan District, Serang Regency. JN was arrested while in action at KM 58 Undar Andir Village, Kragilan District, Serang Regency, on Sunday night, November 26.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Wiwin Setiawan explained that the arrest of the perpetrator of the iron theft on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road stems from reports from the public who suspected that a motorbike was parked beside the toll road.

"The residents then reported the suspicion to the Serang Police Headquarters for follow-up," said the Police Chief accompanied by Kasatreskim AKP Andi Kurniady, Tuesday, November 28.

Receiving a report of this suspicion, the Resmob Team led by Ipda Supendi and Katim resmob Bripka Sutrisno then coordinated with the Ditpamobvit Polda Banten and Astra Infra Tamer as operators of the Tangerang-Merak toll road.

"After checking, there were a number of toll road safety iron and missing bolts. The Resmob team then secured the motorbike and conducted a sweep on the side of the toll road to find the vehicle owner," explained the Police Chief.

At KM 58 Undar Andir Village, officers managed to find the suspect JN who was hiding in the bushes along with a number of evidence of the proceeds of crime. The evidence that was secured from the suspect was 3 pieces of iron, 13 bolts, a British key, a screwdriver and a fitting key and a saw.

"Together with the evidence, the suspect JN was then secured to the Serang Police Headquarters for further investigation," he explained.

Kasatreskrim AKP Andi Kurniady added that from the results of the examination, the suspect JN admitted his actions. Even the suspect JN is known to have stolen road safety iron 8 times on the Tangerang-Merak toll road.

"The suspect did it alone and it is known that he has stolen road safety iron 8 times," added Andi Kurniady.

Regarding the stolen goods previously obtained, said Kasatreskim, the suspect sold them to mobile junk traders.

"The motive is economic problems because the suspect is unemployed," he explained.
