JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Media Survey Institute (Median) released the results of a survey regarding the competition for the seat of the Governor of DKI Jakarta during the regional election.
As a result, the name Ahmad Riza Patria ranks 10 out of 11 people chosen by respondents with a portion of 0.5 percent. Riza is far below Anies Baswedan who occupies the first position with a share of 40.5 percent.
Riza is the Chairperson of the Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD. Currently Riza also serves as Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta.
Responding to the results of this survey, Deputy Chairperson of the Jakarta Gerindra Party DPD, Syarif admitted that he would use the results of the Median survey as a reference in formulating the Jakarta Pilkada strategy in the future.
"The survey is a scientific method that we must appreciate to explore people's perceptions. That is what we must hold as a guideline that surveys measure, capture people's perceptions today," said Syarif when contacted, Tuesday, February 16.
Syarif admitted that his party respects the survey results. However, Syarif thought that Riza's position could increase along with her performance as number two in DKI.
"Whether in the coming months the results of the position of each candidate will be the same, increase or decrease, we don't know. So, reading that can be taken into consideration by stakeholders, stakeholders, parties," he said.
When asked about the opportunity to bring Riza back in the next DKI Pilkada, Syarif answered diplomatically. He said his party had not yet thought about a candidate for the Governor of DKI.
"For Gerindra itself, we don't have any policy regulations regarding Pak Riza's position. Whether he will be re-nominated or not, or looking for other candidates, has never been discussed," he concluded.
