SAR Team Finds 3 Victims Of Landslide Nganjuk East Java, A Total Of 29 Successfully Evacuated

JAKARTA - Joint officers managed to evacuate three residents who were victims of landslides in Selopuro Hamlet, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, Tuesday, February 16.

"Three of the victims are dead," said Surabaya SAR Rescue Team spokesman Farid Kurniadi at the scene of the incident, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.

He explained that the two victims were found this morning at around 10:00 WIB. Until now, their identity is not known.

"The adults are women, one more male is still a child," he said.

Then an hour later the officers found the body again, but the identity and gender were not yet known. All the bodies were found in Sector A, where the three were not far apart so they could be evacuated at one time.

"In fact, the location is also not far from the five bodies that we found yesterday," said Farid.

Rain with moderate to high intensity occurred on Sunday, February 14 at around 15.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB causing a landslide cliff in Selopuro Hamlet, Ngetos Village, Ngetos District, Nganjuk, at 18.00 WIB.

A total of 29 victims were successfully evacuated. In details, 12 people died and 17 others were injured.

Officers estimate that seven people are still missing and are still being searched. Monitoring at the disaster site until Tuesday afternoon, the weather was sunny and cloudy, and officers were still carrying out the evacuation process using two excavator units.
