Teachers Are Considered To Have Received More Appreciation

JAKARTA - Caring for education issues from the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar, DR Hadawiah Hatita said the world of education and the government must give teachers more appreciation.

"The teacher's day is the most valuable day for students and teachers, today it makes us dive into the scientific life we have, the world of education and the government must give more appreciation to teachers," Hadawiah said in response to the commemoration of National Teacher's Day in Makassar, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 26.

Observing the role of teachers, he said, should not let teachers suffer, not receive salaries, especially those that usually occur in remote areas who have served and not been appointed as civil servants, even though they have to pay for their lives.

According to him, a teacher should concentrate on preparing materials and knowledge to be divided among his students, but in the field he must work to meet his family's daily needs.

Therefore, the government should not only demand teachers to teach with the same knowledge as teachers in the city if the attention of teachers in the interior and coast is not the same in the city.

Teacher problems do not only end there, he said, as well as the problem of students and teachers, when students have problems and teachers give punishments or sanctions, again the wrong teacher is reported to the police and the law becomes unfair to the teacher.

"It should have been handed over to teachers at school, but it turns out that parents often don't accept it and teachers become victims," he said.

Observing all phenomena in the field, Hadawia said the problem here is the communication of education in which, there are governments, teachers and parents, these three components must have communication to prevent problems in the world of education.

Good communication between the government, teachers and parents will give birth to effective communication, resulting in a better education arrangement.

Moreover, it is realized that the world of education is getting more expensive, maybe payments can be free but the costs outside of payments are expensive. Many people are unable to continue their children going to school, because there are many payments met apart from paying tuition fees, so that people cannot continue their education or drop out of school.

"This is what the government needs to pay attention to as an effort to educate the nation's children," said Hadawia.
