ACEH - A resident died after being electrocuted while looking for fish in the area of Keub Village, Arongan Lambalek District, West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. Head of the Public Relations Section of the West Aceh Police, AKP Mawardi, said that Arif Fadilah (16), a resident of Peuribu Village in Arongan Lambalek District, was electrocuted while looking for fish in a ditch in Keub Village during the flood last Thursday afternoon. At around 16.10 WIB yesterday, Arif and a colleague, Ridwan (27), went to look for fish in ditches and swamps in Keub Village. When descending into the water to install Arif's net, it is suspected that he accidentally held a cable from an electric pole that fell on the side of the road. "When the victim was holding an electric cable, the victim was electrocuted," he said when questioned in Meulaboh, Antara, Friday, November 24. Arif's colleague then asked the residents for help, who then took him to Drien Rampak Health Center, Arongan Lambalek. Because the victim's condition was weak, the puskesmas officer referred Arif to the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital so that he could get the necessary medical treatment.

However, Arif died upon arrival at the ER at Meulaboh Hospital. "The victim has now been buried by the family," said Mawardi.
