Molested 20 Minors, Meatball Maker Arrested In Mamuju

The police from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mamuju Police, West Sulawesi, managed to arrest the alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse of minors. The alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse with the initials MH (49), works as a traveling meatball driver in Sampaga District, Mamuju Regency. MH was arrested at his residence in Tarailu Village, Sampaga Mamuju and is currently being detained by the Mamuju Police. From the results of the police investigation, the perpetrator MH carried out his depraved actions to 20 underage male victims since early May 2023. The victims of sexual abuse were seven years to 16 years old. While in action, the perpetrator lured the victim with Rp. 4,000. After giving money, the perpetrator then invited the victim to enter his room and launched his depraved act. Head of Public Relations of the Mamuju Police, Ipda Herman Basi, said that the perpetrators committed sexual abuse of the same sex against minors.

"The alleged perpetrator of MH, invited these children by encouraging the lure of varying money from Rp. 2,000 to Rp. 4,000, then invited to his house to play pornographic videos later, after his son watched, the perpetrator did feel and carried out his depraved act," he explained. The perpetrator is currently being held at the Mamuju Police Station for further investigation. Meanwhile, the police have also examined a number of witnesses including the victim's parents, the victim's brother and the victims.

"The perpetrator is subject to Article 81 concerning Child Protection with the threat of a sentence of more than 5 years in prison," he said.
