It Wasn't Firli Who Received An Award From Ministry Of Finance But Stranas PK

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) emphasized that the Mutual Bendha award handed over to KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri was not for personal use but was received by the National Corruption Prevention Strategy Team (Stranas PK).

This was conveyed in response to the polemic of Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani handing over the award to Firli before he became a suspect in allegations of extortion or receiving gratuities.

Stranas PK received an award in the category of institutions that promote the management of state property (BMN) as part of the national strategy to prevent corruption.

"So the person who received the award was not Mr. Firli or the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, but actually the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention whose secretariat is at the Corruption Eradication Commission," said Special Staff of the Minister of Finance, Yustinus Prastowo, in Jakarta, Thursday, November 23.

Firli is said to represent Prastowo because the KPK is the coordinator of the National Corruption Prevention Strategy. Moreover, many other figures also accepted, such as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, to represent his institution.

"It's a coincidence that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) is led by Mr. Firli," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Niken Ariati, the Daily Coordinator of the National Strategy for Corruption Prevention, confirmed that the anti-corruption commission was indeed the coordinator and administrator. This work was carried out together with the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas; Ministry of Home Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs); Presidential Staff Office (KSP); and the Ministry of State Apparatus Control and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB).

"The National Corruption Prevention Strategy (Stranas PK) was formed based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 54 of 2018 which is an improvement on Presidential Decree Number 55 of 2012," said Niken in her written statement.

In managing state assets or BMN, there are at least four targets that Stranas PK aims to achieve, said Niken. The details include complete, accurate and up-to-date BMN administration and improvements to regulations for resolving problematic BMN.

Then digitize BMN land certification; to resolving problematic BMN in a number of ministries such as the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Ministry of Education and Culture, and Ministry of PUPR.

"Based on the Third Quarterly 2023-2024 National Corruption Prevention Strategy Implementation Report, the total achievement of National Corruption Prevention Action in 61 ministries/institutions and 34 Provincial Governments as well as 68 Regency and City Governments has reached 21.77 percent. The total achievement of State Asset Action (BMN) until the third quarter of 2023-2024 in the seven relevant ministries and institutions was 29.72 percent," explained Niken.

The seven ministries in question are the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agrarian Spatial Planning/National Land Agency, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Ministry of State Secretariat, and Ministry of Home Affairs.
