Teacher Of The Koran In Tulungagung Beaten During A Santri Front Lecture, Admitting That He Was Often Terrorized By His Cellphone

JAKARTA - Police officers at the Tulungagung Resort, East Java, are currently handling a case of beating a Koran teacher inside the Baiturrahman mosque, Besuki Village, Besuki District, last Friday, February 12.

"We have handled it. In the meantime there are 4 witnesses that we are examining," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tulungagung Police, AKP Ardyan Setiantono in Tulungagung quoted from Antara, Monday, February 15.

The victim of this persecution was Muhammad Ubaidillah Suwito, a reciting teacher in Besuki Village. At that time the victim was giving advice to students in the Baiturrahman mosque.

In the middle of the event, suddenly the perpetrator entered and looked for the victim, but Suwito ignored him. Without realizing it, the perpetrator immediately hit Suwito's chin.

Local residents also came to the scene and tried to intervene in the beating.

"He came to me and kept hitting my chin," said Suwito.

Suwito admitted that previously he had received several threats from the reported via WhatsApp messages. The threat was ignored and only took a screenshot of the message.

"The motive (I) also don't know," said Suwito. Suwito also explained that he and the reported actually already know each other. Last met about 2-3 years ago.

The police themselves are reluctant to provide the names of the perpetrators for security reasons. Currently the perpetrator is still being examined intensively.

If found guilty, the perpetrator will charge him with article 352 of the Criminal Code concerning light maltreatment with a maximum threat of eight years in prison.
