Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo Admits He Received Money From Tommy, But Swears He Does Not Know About Joko Tjandra

JAKARTA - The defendant in the alleged bribery case for eliminating red notice, Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo, admitted that he received 20 thousand US dollars (US) from Tommy Sumardi, a colleague of Joko Tjandra.

This admission was conveyed by Prasetijo during the trial with a plea or plea agenda.

"I admit that I received 20 thousand US dollars from Tommy Sumardi, no more or less," said Brigadier General Prasetijo during a trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 15.

Prasetijo also said that the money given by Tommy Sumardi was never asked for. The giving of money was initially considered a gift as a friend without any purpose or purpose.

"I did not think that my receipt of this money would be a criminal act which resulted in the trial of this case," he continued.

"And I swear I never knew that the money amounting to 20 thousand US dollars would be linked to the removal of red notices which is the subject of this matter," continued Prasetijo.

The reason is that as the Head of the Supervisory Coordinating Bureau (Karo Korwas), the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency does not have the authority to red notice.

Brigadier General Prasetijo has also returned the money to the Police Propam. The return, said Prasetijo, was not yet in the investigation or investigation stage.

"My ranks are not authorized to take care of letters related to Joko Tjandra. I do not have any part because it has nothing to do with my main duties as Karo Korwas PPNS," he said.

Brigadier General Prasetijo is charged with imprisonment of 2 years and 6 months. In addition, he was also required to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of 6 months.

The demand is because the prosecutor believes that Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo is proven to have accepted bribes from Joko Tjandra through Tommy Sumardi. The bribes received amounted to 100 thousand US dollars.
