OIKN And 4 IT Companies From The US Collaborate To Build A Smart City At IKN

The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) together with four information technology companies (IT) in the United States (US) collaborate to realize the development of a city in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. "This shows the interest and trust of the international community in the development of IKN as a modern city that is smart, sustainable, resilient, green, and inclusive," said OIKN Head Bambang Susantono in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, November 19. Bambang said, OIKN succeeded in producing a total of five cooperation agreements in the form of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four technology companies and educational institutions. The four well-known technology companies from the United States that signed the MoU with the OIKN are Cisco, Autodesk, Microsoft, and Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). The four signings of the MoU were carried out as a form of participation from global companies in the development of smart cities in IKN. Cisco participates in smart city apparatus installations, such as the development of sensor technology networks and the Internet of Things (IoT) for data collection, delivery and utilization and information in the field. The development of technology facilities and infrastructure for connectivity networks is beneficial for various smart technology solutions, such as water and energy management, transportation management, smart buildings, and city management. The next US technology company, Autodesk, is participating in assisting OIKN in designing a city that is livable and loved. Autodesk technology helps improve city planning performance through visualization, optimization, and simulations of building planning, public space, and infrastructure that improve the efficiency and sustainability of development project management. Furthermore, ESRI participates in developing spatially based analytic technology. The technology is used for mapping, monitoring, remote sensing, and spatial data management. Through this geospatial information technology, it can help OIKN in planning spatial planning and land for IKN. This helps OIKN in planning, development, and city management. Utilization of data and geospatial information can be utilized in the management of natural resources such as water, forests, wildlife, and biodiversity, mitigating disaster risk, and so on. Meanwhile, Microsoft participates in the digital transformation process at IKN. By accelerating digital transformation, increased productivity and competitiveness can be achieved through providing faster, easier, and more efficient services. Microsoft participates in the digital transformation process of IKN through the development of smart city solutions in various aspects of city management, development of data center digital infrastructure and secure and resilient cloud computing, as well as increasing digital literacy education initiatives and computer skills for the community.

OIKN also collaborates with Standford University, Standford Doerr School of Sustainability for research and research and innovation centers at IKN and in the future is the exploration of the construction of the Standford Campus at IKN.
