Kaltara Provincial Government Takes Strict Action On Illegal Food Circulation

TARAKAN Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Zainal A Paliwang supports law enforcement efforts to eradicate the circulation of illegal drugs and food in the Kaltara region.

"Food and illegal cosmetic devices are suspected of containing hazardous materials, causing their users to experience poisoning which has an impact on death," said Governor Zainal, Tuesday, November 14.

In addition, the rampant circulation of illegal medicinal and food products in the Kaltara region can have a negative impact and endanger health because it does not meet safety and quality standards.

Therefore, the central government, provincial governments and district/city governments can synergize and cooperate across sectors in eradicating illegal drugs and food.

"I ask all parties, both agencies and relevant stakeholders, to disseminate and take action. Because this will have a serious impact on people who consume," he said.

The governor also advised business actors to coordinate with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) to avoid unwanted things

"I hope that effective formulation can be produced in the context of monitoring, eradicating and abusing illegal drugs and food in North Kalimantan Province in the future. Hopefully this FGD can produce the best whether to form an integrated team, and can produce the best and productive decisions for handling this eradication," said Zainal.
