DENPASAR - Three residents of Karangasem, Bali, reportedly disappeared while fishing. They are now being searched by the Bali SAR team.

Head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, Gede Darmada, said that the three missing people were known to have been fishing in the boulders of Mimba Beach, Padangbai.

"Three people were fishing on the rocks by the beach, yesterday night at around 22.00 Central Indonesia Time, and we received a report on the incident from one younger brother (of the missing person) this afternoon," he said in a written statement, Sunday, February 14.

It is estimated that the angler's position is at coordinates 8°32.415'S-115°30.555'E. The identities of the three-person are I Kadek Rena (30), a resident of Duda Village, Selat District, I Wayan Abdiana (30), a resident of Duda Village, and I Gede Satya (30), a resident of Sibetan Village, Bebandem District.

The joint SAR elements involved during the SAR operation included the Padangbai Marine Area Police, Jasi Beach lifesaver, and the local community.

“The wind is heading southwest and the wave height reaches 2 meters. The team searched using a rubber boat, while the ground team was monitoring from the beach, and until now the search is still ongoing," said Darmada.
