East Java Provincial Government Frees 42 Fields Of Land Affected By The Tulungagung Toll Project

TULUNGAGUNG - The East Java Provincial Government Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Office stated that 42 of the total 180 plots of land in Tulungagung Regency, which were affected by the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road project, had been released.

"The owner of 42 plots of land received compensation with a total value of Rp. 21.1 billion," said Head of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road Land Procurement Team, Linanda Krisni, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 10.

Payments are made in two stages. The first phase has been paid in the amount of Rp. 10.8 billion, and this weekend it is scheduled to pay phase two in the amount of Rp. 10.3 billion.

He said that in Panggurejo Village, Karangrejo District, Tulungagung, there were 180 affected plots of land with a total value of around Rp. 133 billion.

Currently, there are 138 plots of land that have not been freed. His party plans to hold a third meeting with the public on Wednesday (15/11/2023).

"After this third deliberation, we have given a grace period of 14 working days for people who do not agree to file an objection to the district court," he said.

Linanda emphasized that this project has great benefits for Tulungagung. His party together with relevant stakeholders are trying to approach the community and provide an understanding that this project is for the wider public interest.

"With an approach like this, we hope that the public can be knocked into accepting and agreeing. This is a national project and for the wider public interest, because toll roads are one of the public interest of many people including the people of Tulungagung," he said.

Confirmed separately, Sukardi (67), a resident of Panggurejo Village who received a profit compensation of Rp. 2 billion, revealed his intention to buy a plot of rice fields in other areas with the money he received.

"If it's according to wish, I will buy the rice fields again. From the start, it's just good to accept the general price. Because usually people have lacking traits. If I just do that, but look at the needs," he said.
